Redmond WA Parks

Redmond WA Parks are very popular and filled with fun things to do.  Contact Redmond WA Parks and Recreation Dept. for more info.

Farrel-McWhirter Park is one of the most overlooked parks offering a small farm with pigs, cows, chickens, bunnies, goats and ponies.  Kids can take pony riding lessons and learn how to care for and ride ponies.  There are also a few large picnic areas offering shelters with grills and electricity.  It is also a great place for orienteering.  There is also a pre-school that operates on the grounds.  There is an outdoor riding arena and walking trails as well as horseback riding trails.

Pharmaca Redmond

The New Pharmaca Drug Store opened on Feb 2nd despite the ground hog

Redmond Pharmaca

Redmond Pharmaca

seeing it’s shadow.  The shadow of high prices plagues Pharmaca Redmond and it is worth the drive into Seattle to go to Medicine Man for more reasonable prices which are usually $5-$10 a bottle of deisgner supplements.

Is it worth it to buy such expensive supplements?  Does it really make a difference?

There are some products available that don’t have any other lower priced products to compare to.

It will be interesting to see how well Vitamin Life and The Vitamin Shoppe fair with this new competitor in the market or maybe watch to see if Pharmaca will be able to survive with low cost supplements available in these other stores.

Pharmaca does have a staff of Naturpaths to help people wade through the shelves.  They offer nutritional products from Metagenics, Thorne and many other top of the line nutritional supplements.  They are now also a compounding pharmacy offering specially made compounds used in alternative healing.

Gluten Free Redmond WA

Eating Gluten Free in Redmond WA just got easier – You can find gluten free resources here and also add your own!

Redmond Puget Sound Co-op (PCC Natural Market) has a gluten free section on their website.  Some of my favorite items are Gluten free Baking Mixes and Amy’s Gluten free macaroni and cheese.(Open daily 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. 11435 Avondale Road N.E. Redmond, Wash. 98052 425-285-1400)

Whole Foods in Redmond has Gluten free bagels and bread in the Freezer sections along with Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies, Peanut Butter Cookies and Chocolate Mint cookies made by GlutenFreedas (TM)
(17991 Redmond Way Redmond, WA 98052 Phone 425.881.2600)

Redmond Garlic Jims offers Gluten Free Pizza using a corn based crust that when I first tasted it didn’t seem too exciting but the sauce/cheese/toppings made it all worth it for this gluten free gal.  (Somehow nothing can ever compare to a real pizza crust though but this comes close) You can download their gluten free menu here. Is this Redmond WA

Well mother nature is at it again in Redmond WA with a few more inches of snow.  I keep thinking I’ll wake up or thinking that I am having a dream of being back in Buffalo NY!

No more snow in Redmond WA

2 feet of snow in Redmond WA a week before Christmas is totally unheard of!  While the beauty of the new snow is a delight – getting around town can be quite challenging.  No plows on Avondale Rd even for a week seems like a problem somewhere in the system.

So begins the life of this blog…snowing in Redmond WA.
